Babos & Mladenovic win 2020 Australian Open after victory over Hsieh & Strycova

It was a dream run for Mladenovic & Babos in Melbourne. Throughout the tournament, they did not lose a set. En route to the final, they defeated Jakupovic & Olaru, Barty & Goerges, Kuzmova & Sasnovich, Gauff & McNally and Chan & Chan. In the final, they faced a first-seeded team, Hsieh & Strycova.

However, the final did not seem to be a big deal for the second-seeded team. After losing only 4 games in the 2019 WTA Finals to Strycova & Hsieh, this time they lost only 3 to lift the trophy in Melbourne and become world number 1 & 2. It was a 6-2, 6-1 victory that brought 3rd Grand Slam title to Babos and 4th to Mladenovic.
