The unique pairing of Czech Barbora Krejcikova and Croat Nikola Mektic put on a commendable display as they progressed to their first Grand Slam final as a duo.

The fifth seeds upset the third seeded Gabriela Dabowski and Henri Kontinen 3-6 6-3 [10-5] in an hour and 15 minutes, fighting back from a set down to secure their spot in the final.
Having reached the final last year after pairing with American Rajeev Ram, the duo went on to capture the trophy. Krejcikova now has 3 Grand Slam doubles titles, winning two others with frequent doubles partner Katerina Siniakova.
The Czech will hope to defend her title and add another Australian Open trophy to her cabinet.
Mektic will be playing in his second Grand Slam final, having lost in the 2018 US Open mixed doubles finals with then partner Alicja Rosolska. The Croat will be hungry for revenge, as he could potentially face the team of Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Jamie Murray, to whom he lost in the finals in 2018.
Mattek-Sands and Murray will battle Australian wildcards Astra Sharma and John-Patrick Smith for a spot in the final.
