Paula Badosa and
Aryna Sabalenka are playing doubles again and it went well in the first round agianst Ons Jabeur and Ellen Perez 7-5 7-5.
Paula Badosa and Aryna Sabalenka are an unlikely pairing yet the duo elected to play some doubles recently during the Sunshine double. After winning one match they lost the other but they decided to team up again for the
Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart. The draw was a tricky one as it landed them Jabeur and Perez who played in the past and reached a final together.
That chemistry was on display early for Jabeur and Perez as they jumped out to a 4-1 lead. Badosa and Sbaalenka had some break points earlier but they failed to use them. But slowly they started to develop chemistry and once they did they took over. From 1-4, they battled back to 4-4 completely dominating play on their serve.
Both of them are great serves and pretty tall so naturally, they work well as a doubles pairing. They closed out the first set with 7-5 and started the 2nd off well with an early break and a 2-0 lead. Jabeur and Perez battled back to make it 2-2 and play resumed with both teams dominating on serve. Eventually the Spaniard and Belarussian found a way to break down their opponent securing the 2nd set with 7-5 as well.
