Krejcikova spoiled the party in Estonia's capital beating native player Kontaveit 6-2 6-3 to win the 2022
Tallinn Open final.
Krejcikova finally returned to form this week in Tallinn growing more confident with every win. Not every win was spectacular but she was able to get the job done and peak on the day of the final playing by far the best match of the week.
Kontaveit certainly did not play her best today but she was also a bit tired after several high-octane matches this week. The Estonian was not as sharp as she needed to especially from the baseline as Krejcikova was much more precise.
The start of the match was equal by both but Krejikvoa found a better rhythm moving forward taking the opening set 6-2. Her good play continued in the next set as well despite dropping her serve in the first game o the match.
She urned it around 3-1 with Kontaveit briefly coming back to make it 3-3. Krejcikova then broke her opponent to finish off the match 6-3. A big win for the Czech player and a very important one as she looks to get back to the top of tennis.
