The Australian player has played spectacular tennis all week long and that continued today against Swiatek. Barty is a very tough matchup for the Polish player as not many players are able to change the momentum of the point as well as Barty. She also has a very good slice that is able to keep Swiatek of her rhythm and that slice was particularly useful when the match was being decided.
In the first set, Barty cruised relatively easily as her serve did a lot of damage. She got a lot of free points through her serve as Swiatek struggled to both read the serve and return it. In points, Barty was able to keep Swiatek away from finding any rhythm and that was key. The score was 6-2 and it seemed like Barty had full control.
Not much changed in the 2nd set in terms of who controlled the points but Swiatek was a bit more precise with her shots. From time to time she would produce a stunning shot and win a point through her forehand ut that was far too few. Barty employed her slice, even more, to throw off the rhythm of Swiatke and succeeded.
She took an early break and held it relatively easily. She did run into a bit of trouble in one game but wiggled out of it. Barty finished it of with 6-4 in the 2nd set and she moves to the final.
