Barty withdraws from Sydney Tennis Classic after Adelaide International triumph

Ashleigh Barty will not play at the Sydney Tennis Classic next week with the draw further depleted after the withdrawal of the World Number One.

Barbora Krejcikova is up to top seeded spot and as a result, Belinda Bencic will face a Lucky Loser.

It is a field that still includes Emma Raducanu, Garbine Muguruza, Anett Kontaveit, Paula Badosa and Sofia Kenin who will all play in the next few days.

This means that the recently returned Aussie will not play again before Melbourne where she will aim to add another Grand Slam.
