America’s tennis star Danielle Collins has stated that she wears her ‘heart’ on her sleeve after cementing her spot in the fourth round of Wimbledon. The third Grand Slam of the year is moving towards the business end as the remaining players are doing all they can to secure the ultimate prize.
Collins, who is going through a fabulous season, was recently quoted in a report where she stated that she wear her ‘heart’ on her sleeve. The Florida-born star further stated that in her opinion, the women tennis players must be supported if they show their emotions on the court.
“I wear my heart on my sleeve,” she said. “I’m someone who’s not afraid to be myself. I think as women we should really embrace that and support each other and be able to use that passion to fire us up. We get framed as emotional and frustrated and this and that. I just say ‘F it.’ Im going for it. I wear my heart on my sleeve and I’m always gonna bring the passion.”
Collins is going through an impressive season where she registered some notable victories. The current world number 11 won the Madrid Open after beating Elena Rybakina in the final in straight sets with a score of 7-5, 6-3. She then went on to lift the Charleston Open after beating Daria Kasatkina in straight sets in the final with a score of 6-2, 6-1.
Collins has continued her good form at Wimbledon as well where she booked her place in the fourth round of the mega-event after beating Brazil’s Beatriz Haddad Maia in straight sets with a score of 6-4, 6-4. She is now set to face off Barbora Krejcikova who cemented her spot in the fourth round of the competition after being awarded a walkover against Spain’s Jessica Bouzas Maneiro when the score was 6-0, 4-3.
