Belinda Bencic wins Swiss Sportswoman of the Year Award

The Swiss sports awards were held last night and Belinda Bencic got honored with the Sportswoman of the Year award.

Belinda Bencic had a tremendous 2021 season that was filled with career highlights for the Swiss Player. The season was an up and down one from start to finish but she was able to find some strong form in the 2nd part of the year which allowed her to have a brilliant run at the Tokyo Olympics where she won the Gold Medal.

She also played amazing in doubles as well winning a medal for Switzerland there as well. After that, she had some strong showings but her form dipped towards the end of the year. Nonetheless, it was still enough for Bencic to be recognized in her country with the Sportswoman of the Year Award. She expressed how honored she was to receive the award and promised to represent Switzerland on the global stage even better in the future.
