The 2025 Madrid Open is a joint ATP and WTA event that will see the respective tour's most talented players compete on the clay courts of Madrid, Span from April 22-May 3, 2025 with Prize Money set.
An ATP Masters 1000 and WTA 1000 event, the Madrid Open offers one of the most coveted trophies on tour. The clay-court event features a 96 singles player field and a 32 doubles team draw. Former champions include Andrey Rublev currently and Carlos Alcaraz on the men's side, while Ons Jabeur and Aryna Sabalenka have prevailed in the women's draw. Iga Swiatek snapped the streak of Sabalenka winning the title last year.

Sabalenka hoping finally for hat-trick in Madrid as Djokovic set to return

The World No.2 lifted the title in 2023, in addition to winning it all at the 2021 edition. However, the Belarusian will face stiff competition from the likes of Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula with the latter being super in-form right now. But it is certainly a court she likes.
On the men's side, Carlos Alcaraz will look to win the title again for a third time. Andrey Rublev shockingly won the event last year defeating Felix Auger-Aliassime in the final. Novak Djokovic also will make his return in many a year to play in this event as he aims for his 100th title.
Jannik Sinner fans though will have to wait another two weeks with Rome being the next chance to see their man. The World No.1 is back in training with Jack Draper and Matteo Berrettini after his doping ban but he is not cleared until Rome.
It comes as no surprise that the Madrid Open will offer a mouth-watering amount in total prize money, with the champion taking home €985,030 and 1,000 ranking points. Below is the full breakdown.

Hope the Cake-Gate fiasco won't repeated this year, but then again... Iga, Aryna and co might grill the Madrid organizers again if they made similar fiasco as last year.
