Bencic seals Switzerland's Billie Jean King Cup Finals spot with win over Tomljanovic

It was a rather one-sided affair between Australia and Switzerland with the smaller nation securing the place in the finals. In the first match, we saw Sanders take on Teichmann, and in that match the Swiss player had a clear advantage. Teichmann has been in great form in the 2nd part of the year and it showed against Sanders.

The Swiss player smashes her opponent in the first set with 6-0 taking a 3-0 lead in the early 2nd set as well. Sanders briefly leveled the score at 3-3 but the Swiss player had no issues closing out the match with 6-3 giving her country the first point.

The 2nd point which sealed their appearance in the final against Russia was delivered by Bencic. Bencic faced Tomljanovic and despite a very good season by the Australian and solid form overall, she was no match for Bencic who has been one of the better players in the past couple of months. It was a rather routine first set for Bencic who won it with 6-3.

The 2nd set was even more convicing from Bencic who smashed Tomljanovic with 6-2 to secure the 2-0 win for Switzerland over Australia. They will face Russia for the Billie Jean King Cup Finals trophy.
