Belinda Bencic won the title at the Kremlin Cup in Moscow after coming back from 3-6 after the first set to win the 2nd title of the 2019 season.
The biggest goal for Bencic in Moscow was earning enough points to earn a spot in the WTA Finals. She did that by reaching the finals after what she
commented: “It means the world to me. Obviously, it was a big goal this season, particularly after I started it so strongly, and having put myself in a position to reach the WTA Finals I’m so happy now to have reached it.”
In the final she faced home-crowd favorite Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova. The Russian started the match better when she won the first set 6-3 in 49 minutes. But since that moment, Bencic dominated the match, when she won the second and third set identically 6-1 in just 56 minutes.
