Katie Boulter is getting ready to tie the knot later this year with fellow tennis player Alex de Minaur. As her tennis career continues to be revived, off the court she is enjoying herself in the build-up to the big day, celebrating her hen do with fellow British tennis talents as she describes it as the 'best weekend ever.'
After a miserable 2025 in which the former British number one fell outside the top 100, she was ready to be done with it and move into 2026, a new chapter in her life not just on the court but off it. She and de Minaur have been dating since 2020 and announced their engagement in December 2024 on Instagram, which was met by a lot of supportive messages.
They unveiled that the wedding will take place in the middle of the year in Europe as they look for a spot to fit it in around the busy tennis calendar both players are trying to juggle. Preparation for the big day involved a hen do.
The likes of Laura Robson, Jodie Burrage and Freya Christie were among the guests celebrating with Boulter. From what was gathered in their Instagram posts of the trip, it sounded like they had a very good time.
Robson shared a plethora of photos on her social media with the caption: "Happy campers." Underneath it, Boulter responded with: "Best weekend ever." Robson was still grinning from the celebrations. "Literally smiling at my phone." All of this will lead to the wedding coming up shortly.

Boulter getting back to her best on court

Boulter and de Minaur met back in 2020 when going for coffee at 6 am. Having initially met on the professional tennis circuit, their relationship grew from there with them now one of the tennis power couples on tour. They regularly go watch each other play, and have made a knack of winning on the same weekend in different tournaments.
The most recent one came when Boulter took home the Ostrava Open title the same day de Minaur finally clinched the ABN AMRO Open title at the third time of asking. This marks successful starts to the year from both players.
Especially Boulter, who has gone from worrying about automatic qualification for the Australian Open to being ranked back in the top 70. Sitting in 64th, it is already a stark rise experienced by Boulter who endured a tumultuous 2025.
She failed to defend her titles in San Diego and Nottingham while losing out early in the Hong Kong Open, where she reached the final in 2024. All of this made for a stressful wait at the end of the year to see if she would still be in an automatic spot for the first Grand Slam of the calendar year.
It was a chance to reset and go again for Boulter, who has been ranked as high as 23rd in the world. She brought in Michael Joyce as her new coach, who has overseen the likes of Maria Sharapova, Jessica Pegula, Victoria Azarenka and Johanna Konta. It seems to be going well with the highlight her success in the Czech Republic, her fifth WTA title. A quarterfinal in the Merida Open followed before failure to qualify for Indian Wells was slightly made up for with a third round run in the Miami Open, pushing Karolina Muchova hard but being unstuck by the eventual semi-finalist.
With ambitions to surpass her prior best results, Boulter is not satisfied with the outcome yet. The 29-year-old will keep pushing up the order with the clay swing a great chance for her to pick up some more points in a season where she is defending very little.
