Bianca Andreescu takes first Grand Slam title after defeating Serena Williams

Andreescu survived Serena Williams' comeback in the second set and won her first final at the US Open 6-3 and 7-5.

Serena Williams could win her 24th Grand Slam title at the US Open but she was stopped by Bianca Andreescu in the final. The Canadian has a great season when she won 45 matches out of 49 and has now managed to win her first Grand Slam title.
During the coin toss, Bianca Andreescu won and chose to return first. And she did decide the best she possibly could, breaking the first serve of Serena what gave her the necessary confidence in the first set. When the scoreboard was showing 5-3, she managed to break the American again won the first set 6-3.
In the second set, Andreescu was already leading 5-1 and 30-15, but Serena managed to win a point in a difficult rally, what really helped her, and what looked like a simple win for Andreescu turned into a huge battle. She also got to one championship point when she led 40-30, but Serena managed to equalize the score to 5-5.
Despite the young age and pressure from the audience, she managed to play perfectly and won the second set with 7-5. Just 19-year-old Andreescu will move to 5th place in the WTA ranking after winning the US Open title.
