Wimbledon getting stripped of points was not supported by Pliskova or Kerber or Tomljanovic or Golubic and the reason is simple.
All these players suffered significant drops on the
WTA rankings thanks to the event being stripped of points with no chance to replenish lost points. For players like Pliskova, it probably would not have mattered much because she crashed out rather early anyway but for
Ajla Tomljanovic it would have. The Aussie player defended all her points by reaching the quarterfinal once more but it did not matter.
Pliskova lost 1200 points from the final last year but dropped the least out of all the named players. She lost dropped from 7 to 15 so 8 spots in total.
Angelique Kerber dropped 12 spots to number 31. Ajla Tomljanovic dropped 27 spots to number 71.
The biggest loser in the top 100 by far is
Viktorija Golubic who dropped 42 spots in total being barely ranked inside the top 100 at number 100. Some other players that lost during the Wimbledon fortnight are Katerina Siniakova who dropped 14 spots and Elena Ruse 18. Another player that will remember this Wimbledon is Jule Niemaier who had a breakout event but dropped 12 spots to number 109. Yikes.
