BNP Paribas Open Indian Wells WTA Day One Schedule of with Stephens, Kostyuk

The BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells kicks off today with the WTA gettings us underway and day one has some decent 1st round matchups in store for tennis.
After two long years, the Indian Wells Masters returns and the Ladies will get us underway on day one of the event with 10+ matches. Californian tennis fans will get the chance to see top-level tennis return on Wednesday, October 6th at 11:00 local times when the first matches of the 2021 edition start. Native Ann Li will get us underway against Misaki Doi while Petkovic takes on Putintseva.
The first couple of matches will start at 20:00 CET and after that, we will have matches follow each other as they finish. Sloane Stephens will also play on day one with the former US Open champion taking on fellow veteran Heather Watson. Up and comer Marta Kostyuk will take on Zhang as Martic takes on Volynets.
The evening session at the Indian Wells Open will start at 03:00 CET with qualifier Hontama taking on fellow qualifier Paolini. Madison Keys will play Kaia Kanepi, as another American in Rogers takes on Kalinina at 04:30. Check out the full schedule below.

- I heartily disagree with Stubbs here. I mean c'mon! The whole idea of giving out wildcards is to give new & up-coming players a chance at getting as much circuit match-practice under their belts as possible. And this is a HUGE must and opportunity for these new kids on the block. Why curtail opportunities for these newbies in favour of stalwart monopoly?? That just isn't fair. At least give these lesser known players a chance to become more familiar at playing in bigger tournaments & give them also a chance of getting the crowds behind these underdogs.
