Emma Raducanu arrives in Stuttgart to play the Porsche Grand Prix. 🏎️❤️
Known for nurturing young stars including Serena Williams, Emma Raducanu is the next that Rick Macci believes will make a further splash in tennis with a bold prediction made for the former US Open champion.
Raducanu has had injury woes aplenty since winning at Flushing Meadows as well as the increased media spotlight and scrutiny. But showed that the skill is still there at the Billie Jean King Cup last week in which she anchored Great Britain home to victory. From Macci’s POV, that skill doesn’t leave you and that it is unlocked somewhere ready to return and in the process to the top 10. 2025 has been set as a benchmark in which Macci believes she will return to the top 10 and with it be in contention for Grand Slams again.
"You don't lose the skill, but you kind of lose the will and I don't know what's in her head. But, when she plays every point like it's her last breath and she's the ultimate competitor, I can see,” said Macci to Sportskeeda.
"I said it before she'll be top 10 in the world by the end of 2025. Once you get in that top 10, you can beat anybody anytime anywhere and I really believe that she can win Grand Slams again," he continued.
"Well, first off, I am a big fan because I think anybody that qualifies for a Grand Slam and then wins a Grand Slam without losing a set. You don't lose talent and you don't lose ability," Macci continued. “But, at the end of the day, everything changed around her in the blink of an eye. But absolutely, it takes a long time to get your confidence back.”
