Jennifer Brady retired from her tie with Coco Gauff in the third round of the French Open at 6-1 down and speaking afterwards, the 13th seed revealed it stemmed from a pre existing injury.
Speaking post match, Brady said she had been suffering from a plantar fasciitis and a bone bruise since Rome and that she thought about potentially not playing Paris.
"I actually was considering not even playing here," Brady said. "I wasn't going to step out there unless I could finish the match in the first round. Happy that I was able to get a couple of matches in.
"Then today, I woke up and it was, you know, just worse. I couldn't really play my game. I was about 20 percent moving. So unfortunate."
