Former world number one America’s Chris Evert was left
amused after alternate career paths for ATP Players were suggested in a social
media post.
On a post on social media platform X, previously known as
Twitter, a post appeared where alternate careers for men’s tennis players were
suggested.
The post suggested that the current world number one Serbia’s
legendary tennis star Novak Djokovic can have an alternate career as a Yoga
instructor whereas America’s Ben Shelton can work as a call centre agent.
The post clearly left Evert amused and she expressed her
feelings by posting laughing emoji.
The 68-year-old is often regarded as one of the greatest players
in the history of women’s singles tennis in the Open era, having won as many as
18 Grand Slam titles.
Evert’s most successful competition was the French Open
where she lifted the title seven times.
The Florida-born won her first major title back in 1974 in
Paris where she defeated China’s Olga Morozova in the final in straight sets with
a score of 6-1, 6-2.
Her last major triumph also came while playing at the
Roland Garros in 1986 when she defeated fellow American Martina Navratilova in
the final with a score of 2–6, 6–3, 6–3.
