Five wildcards have been announced for the Western & Southern Open which will move to New York this year and it includes four Grand Slam winners.
The former who is in her first season since an eight year hiatus will compete in her third tournament of the year; after Dubai and Monterrey.
She will join six more former champions in the field in Madison Keys, Kiki Bertens, Garbiñe Muguruza, Karolina Pliskova and Serena Williams.
While Osaka will take a wildcard; after previous doubts of the former US Open champion competing in both events at Flushing Meadows were dispelled by her management team this week.
Williams of course is a two time US Open singles champion and will join her sister, Serena in the field. Stephens adds to the former US Open winners from 2017; while
Caty McNally has also enjoyed some success in the girls’ doubles as part of her formidable pairing with Coco Gauff dubbed ‘McCoco’.
