Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula will team up for the first time in 2024 at Indian Wells. Teenager Gauff is still open to playing doubles tournaments despite her hectic schedule, while Pegula recently turned 30 and seems to be prioritising singles events going forward.
This has thrown uncertainty into the future of this partnership. However, both of them were listed as the fifth seeds ahead of the start of the Sunshine Double, with the Olympics likely to be the last time the two take to the court together as they will be one of the favourites to win a gold medal.
They will play the wildcard pairing of Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Sofia Kenin in the first round at Indian Wells. Pegula has only played in one other tournament since suffering a shock defeat at the Australian Open, reaching the semi-final of the singles at the WTA 500 San Diego Open and losing in the final of the doubles event.
