Coco Gauff didn't have a very easy time against
Rebecca Peterson who is playing in really superb form right now but she still managed to avoid defeat 6-3 1-6 6-4.
It could have easily been a defeat because Peterson held a lead in the final set but Gauff was able to play her best when she needed it the most to win the match. The first set was a really solid one from both players but Peterson really struggled with her serve and it didn't make things any easier. Only 42 % of her 1st serves gave Gauff plenty of good looks and she took them to win the set 6-3.
The second set saw Peterson storm back in impressive fashion taking it 6-1. It was just a bad set all around for Gauff even though she continued to serve well. Peterson improved on her serve as well which made things a lot easier. Gauff has been having these sets lately and it's not something we have seen before in her game.
In the final set, Peterson took an early lead and held it for a fairly long time. It was 4-3 for her when Gauff started her comeback and it finished with Gauff winning three games in a row. A very good comeback from the American who was inches away from losing this very tricky matchup.
