The fourth day of action is coming up shortly at the Monterrey Open also known as Abierto GNP Seguros with the likes of Elina Svitolina and Johanna Konta in Round of 16 action in the schedule of play.
Kicking off proceedings on the main court is Tamara Zidansek who will take on Anastasia Potapova. Zidansek so far defeated Victoria Azarenka who was returning to action with ease in a 6-2, 6-2 win.
Potapova on the other hand came through a tough test against Giulia Gatto-Monticone winning the first set 6-4 but then losing the next followed by edging the final set 6-4.
Konta then steps onto court against Tatjana Maria. The former could be in for a tough tie against the German if Maria's first round was anything to go by.
She ended up defeating Acapulco champion Heather Watson in a 7-6, 3-6, 7-5 in her first round while Konta defeated the returning Kim Clijsters. A good win for the Briton but whether it will be a happy return is still yet to be soon.
Lauren Davis will take on Arantxa Rus as the number 10 seed faces the Dutchwoman after easing through her first round against Nadia Podoroska 6-0, 6-3; while Rus got through her first round after Varvara Flink retired.
Then it is finally Elina Svitolina who will take on Olga Govortsova after claiming a much needed win over Danka Kovinic, she will hope to continue her return to winning ways against the Belarusian.
