Wang Qiang, Barbora Strycova and Coco Vandeweghe are among those in action at the NYJTL Bronx Open, as the US Open warm-up continues.

Chinese ace Qiang is at an all-time high in the rankings, but has yet to bring sparkling Asian form across to American courts. A chance to set that right comes at the Bronx Open, with perfect timing ahead of the US Open next week. Qiang will take on France's Fiona Ferro. World number 71 Ferro is in decent form, having won in Lausanne last month.
A lot of attention will be paid to Coco Vandeweghe's progress; the New Yorker will be aiming for the $43,000 and ranking points that will help her comeback from injury. Lucky loser Anna Blinkova stands between Vandeweghe and round two. Carla Suarez Navarro and Zheng Saisai's withdrawals mean that only four of the world's top 40 will appear at the Cary Leeds Center. Barbora Strycova, Zhang Shuai and Katerina Siniakova will look to make good on their seedings.
Strycova plays American Bernarda Pera, who beat Veronika Kudermetova on Sunday. Shuai will meet Andrea Petkovic, while Siniakova takes on Wang Yafan.
Alize Cornet will resume her match with Kateryna Kozlova on Monday, with the French player a set to the good.
