Defending champion,
Naomi Osaka is through her opener at the 2022
Australian Open seeing off Camila Osorio Serrano 6-3, 6-3 without a huge degree of fuss for the two time winner in Melbourne.
Osaka began the tie with an early break of serve to go 2-0 up which became a double break soon after to go 4-0 up as she looked to ease through the opening set.
But despite losing her serve herself later on, Osaka served it out averting a 40:15 deficit and the chance for a break for Osorio Serrano who would have been serving to level.
More break points were spurned to begin Set Two with Osaka claiming a solitary effort at 2-1 up to begin and not facing another break opportunity from there as she went on to claim it.
Madison Brengle now potentially awaits before a Round Three clash set with Belinda Bencic on the cards but for Osaka, it was so far so good on her Grand Slam return.
