Andy Murray tuned in for Osaka's match in Melbourne and the British player took to Twitter to praise the Japanese player.
Murray was impressed with Osaka's ball-striking ability which is one area of her game that is often praised. Osaka hits the ball very cleanly and some of the angles she is able to produce are unbelievable. Murray wrote:
"Anyone hit the ball cleaner from the baseline than
Naomi Osaka?"
Osaka was asked about it after her match and her reaction was very wholesome. Obviously, she was unaware it happened and she said:
“Definitely really surreal. I hit with him once like three years ago, and it was a memory that's really like dear to me. It was really cool just to have someone like him talking about my game.”
Osaka then reacted personally to Murray's Tweet, praising his fierce fight to come back to tennis:
"Anyone put their heart on their sleeve and fight harder than Andy Murray?"
