"Feels like I'm at home" says Maria Sakkari after solid start in Melbourne

There is a sizeable Greek minority in Melbourne and Greek players enjoy quite a bit of support from the fans. Both Sakkari and Tsitsipas usually have dozens of fans supporting them and for Sakkari it creates a sense of familiarity which makes her very comfortable. She called it her home tournament:

"It's actually my home tournament. I know it sounds weird saying that, but I don't have a tournament back home. It feels like I'm at home back here. We all know that Melbourne has a very large Greek community and I'm very pleased and grateful to have them behind me."

Sakkari felt much better in this 2nd match than in the first one admitting after the match:

"It felt much better than last match. I feel like as long as I give myself a lot of chances in this tournament I can start playing better and better every match."
