Rafael Nadal is not feeling the pressure to win in Australia even though he is the only of the big three playing at the event.
The Spaniard is keeping a healthy outlook on his career and this event taking things one step at a time. He is not putting any pressure on himself despite being the only of the big three in attendance. After all, Nadal is not in peak condition himself, coming off of a COVID bout a couple of weeks ago. He said:
"I'm excited about it. I'm excited about the fact that I'm going to be playing in a third-round for one more time here after all the things I am going through. I
don't have big pressure on my shoulders, honestly. I don't feel it. The
pressure is only to stay healthy and to enjoy the fact that I am
competing again, then give my best as I did during all my tennis
career."
During his post-match interview, Nadal was also asked about life after tennis. Nadal admitted he hasn't thought about it too much but he will continue to be active in tennis. He said he is not one to sit around:
"I'm not a guy that loves to sit at home and watch TV, I like to do
things. I have an academy to take care about, and I have a foundation to take care about."
