The 2023 ATX Open in Austin is a WTA 250 event that will run from February 27th to March 5th headlined by a couple of Americans.
The event is a first-time one with no previous edition held. Texas hosted the WTA Finals last year and now is getting a WTA event in Austin. The top seed is
Magda Linette, who had a deep run at the Australian Open and is playing really well so far.
She'll beging against Gracheva with the second-seeded Zhang taking on Dart. Some other notable 1st round matches are Yastremska against Friedsam, Kostyuk against Galfi,
Danielle Collins against Frech, Alycia Parks vs Bjorklund.
A couple of veterans including
Sloane Stephens and Alison Riske will also play at the event. Recently crowned Linz Champion Potapova is also part of the draw.
The biggest name at the event Emma Raducanu won't be playing at the event as she withdrew before the event due to an illness. Her hope is to recover in time for the Sunshine double which is what this part of the season is all about.
