Wimbledon champion
Elena Rybakina destroyed
Ana Bogdan 6-1 6-1 to book her first final since her Wimbledon triumph.
Rybakina was playing solid tennis all week long but today's match was by far her best. The score of 6-1 6-1 is impressive but this was not a walk in the park for her as Bogdan put out a good effort and battled her but she simply could not handle the big-hitting Rybakina.
The first set lasted 36 minutes and that's a fairly typical set but not a bit longer than your usual 7-game set. Rybakina served well enough and that's something really important for her because points are much easier for her when she hits her first serve. Bogdan did not serve that well and Rybakina attacked the weaker second serve with a lot of success.
She converted both break points she had while saving all four she faced. The second set was fairly similar only this time Bogdan served much better and it allowed her to prolong the match. The set lasted almost 50 minutes so considerably more than the first despite featuring 7 games once more. Still, it was dominant from Rybakina 6-1.
