Kazakhstan’s tennis star
Elena Rybakina is reportedly healthy
enough to take part in the
Miami Open.
The 24-year-old has recently withdrawn from the WTA 1000 event
in
Indian Wells because of an injury. After that, it was reported that she
might not be fit enough to take part in the Miami Open as well.
However, as per the report, Rybakina is now fit enough to
take part in the event. The news was enough to have the fans buzzing on the social
media platform X. One of them even went on to say that the Moscow-born would
win the title. "She’s taking Miami,
I’ve seen enough," the fan wrote.
Rybakina had an impressive start to the 2024 season. In the
first Grand Slam of the year — the Australian Open — she was knocked out of the
competition after losing in the second round to Anna Blinkova with a score of
6-4, 4-6, 7-6.
After that, Rybakina played in back-to-back finals. In the
first final in the Abu Dhabi Open, she defeated Daria Kasatkina in straight sets
with a score of 6-1, 6-4. In the final of the Qatar Open, she lost to the
current world number one Iga Swiatek in straight sets with a score of 7-6, 6-2.
Before the Indian
Wells, Rybakina played in the Dubai Duty-Free championship where she was
knocked out of the competition after having to retire before the quarterfinal of
the competition to Jasmine Paolini in Italy.
