The WTA Draw has been confirmed ahead of the 2024 Miami Open which will take place between March 19 - March 31, 2024 as the second half of the so-called Sunshine Double which is led by World Number One, Iga Swiatek.
There will be a new champion with Petra Kvitova unable to take her spot in the draw due to maternity leave. Swiatek as a result will lead the hunt for the second title in a row after winning Indian Wells. Again she could face Linda Noskova in the third round with Magdalena Frech or Camila Giorgi up first.
Coco Gauff in her home state will face either Ashlyn Krueger or a Qualifier/Lucky Loser. While the big news surrounds the second seed Aryna Sabalenka. She will face either Simona Halep or Paula Badosa with the former set for her return for the first time since the 2022 US Open after being banned for testing positive for the substance Roxudustat. She had an initial ban of four years cut to nine months so is free to return straight away and received a wildcard from tournament director, James Blake.
Elena Rybakina will face either Caroline Dolehide or a qualifier in her return for the first time since another illness struck down her Indian Wells bid. Caroline Wozniacki sits in the same section as Halep and Sabalenka and will face Clara Burel up first. Emma Raducanu on the other hand will take on Wang Xiyu in a quarter full of qualifiers and lucky losers. She is likely to face Anna Kalinskaya in the second round. Venus Williams will face Diana Shnaider in the first round in a tough match for the American legend who was on hand for the ceremony on NBC 6 alongside James Blake instead of the TennisOne App used last year.
