Emma Raducanu is back in the United Kingdom after arriving in London on Thursday after which she was escorted back to her family home.
The tennis sensation found her way back home after a stunning and unexpected triumph at the 2021 US Open. Upon arrival at Heathrow airport, Raducanu was escorted back to her family home in London where she was eagerly awaited by her family. Raducanu greeted the press in front of her house with her father saying:
"It's nice to see them [her parents] again. I haven't thought about what's next. I'm just enjoying it and relaxing and recovering."
Raducanu arrived in the UK with a British Airways flight from New York however the trophy did not did travel with her. Asked about where the trophy was she simply said: "It's getting shipped."
Her father was also quoted as simply saying he was very proud of his daughter which is understandable. After that quick chat with reporters, the Raducanu's went back inside their home. Raducanu has expressed a desire to rest and recuperate before continuing the season. She did not offer any idea of when she will be back in action.
