Emma Raducanu is continuing to get closer to finding her way into the main draw of the 2024
Australian Open as her comeback begins in a couple of days time in Auckland.
Raducanu will play the ASB Classic and then is slated to find her way into the qualifying tournament in Melbourne as she aims to seal a Grand Slam return. But with Karolina Muchova's withdrawal on Thursday evening, it could yet be a main draw spot for the former US Open champion.
Muchova withdrawing means Yafan Wang takes her spot in the main draw with the Czech ace ironically given Raducanu's struggles continuing to have issues with her wrist too. Tamara Zidansek is next into the main draw with Emma Raducanu following her from there.
So at the very least she will be top seed more than likely for qualifying, with the likes of Petra Kvitova still a doubt to be involved due to recent injury struggles. The likelihood as a result is that more withdrawals will take place over the next week meaning Raducanu's spot in the main draw continues to get greener shoots.

Some on social media believe though that this might not be the best route for Raducanu and that she may benefit more from matches under her belt to play qualifying after being out since April. But the hope will be that a deep run in Auckland and not having to play qualifying will be the direct route.
