The wrist injury continues to bother
Emma Raducanu who took a medical timeout in this match but she still managed to play a very decent match and take it 7-6(3) 6-2.
It was an interesting matchup between Raducanu and Linette who played for the second time. In the first one, Emma won easily 6-2 6-2 but this time around we saw more battling. Linette took an early lead as Raducanu struggled to find a really good rhythm but eventually, she did and the match turned around.
Raducanu even took the lead having a chance to finish it off at 6-5 but allowed Linette to break back and force a tiebreak. Still, the overwhelming ball-striking ability of the Brit gave her enough to take the first set 6-3. The second set was much more impressive as Raducanu was now fully confident in her game playing very similarly to the way she does when she's feeling it.
It reflected in the score as she cruised past Linette 6-2. The Brit didn't serve as well but the groundstrokes are looking pretty solid even with the wrist issues. The win meant a lot to her as she was all smiles after the match.
