Britain’s Emma Raducanu has been spotted in a new Porsche, just weeks after being reported that the brand decided to take the car back. The 21-year-old was once regarded as the next big thing, especially when she lifted the US Open title in 2021 at the age of just 18.
Things, however, has not gone according to the plans for Raducanu who has consistently struggled with fitness concerns. Recently, a report in the English media outlet Daily Mail revealed that the German brand Porsche have taken the car back from the Britain’s young tennis star who became their brand ambassador after a stunning run three years back.
That story was instantly rejected by Porsche in a statement where the company claimed that Raducanu still remains their brand ambassador. "Emma Raducanu is a global brand ambassador for Porsche and there have not been any changes within our successful partnership since it started in 2022. We are very happy with our partnership," said the German brand’s spokesperson. As per the latest report, the former world number 10 was spotted in a new Porsche car wroth of £100,000.
Raducanu, who returned to the court earlier this year after spending nearly 12 months on the sidelines because of fitness concerns, did not have a great year on the court. The Toronto-born featured in 31 matches across all competitions, where she managed to win 18 and suffered defeats on 13 occasions. Her most recent outing was in the Korea Open where she was forced to withdraw from the quarterfinal because of an injury. The highlight of Raducanu’s career remains the US Open triumph. The most impressive aspect of that win was the fact that she started the competition through the qualifying round and even then managed to go all the way and lift the title after beating Canada’s Leylah Fernandez in the final in straight sets with a score of 6-4, 6-3.
