Emma Raducanu could appoint a new tennis coach in the future as the Brit is training at the Piatti academy in Bordighera under the watchful eye of legendary coach Piatti.
According to Gazzetta Dello Sport,
the British number one has been training at the Italian’s Piatti
Academy in Bordighera in an attempt to rectify her recent slump in form. There is no indication as to whether a potential relationship with
Piatti would affect her recent appointment with mentor Torben Beltz.
Having won just four matches since her historic triumph at Flushing
Meadows last September, the Brit has faced some criticism over her dip
in form. Her best result since returning from New York saw her reach the
quarter-final of the Transylvania Open. During this time, Raducanu has been
knocked out of five different tournaments after her first match,
including Indian Wells, and most recently the Miami Open.
She is awaiting the outcome of her audition with Piatti himself to see if the Italian mentor wants to work with her. Piatti is reportedly in high demand after former client and world
number 12 Jannik Sinner recently transferred to new coach Simone
Vagnozzi. The 63-year-old has previously worked with some of the sport’s biggest talents, including Maria Sharapova and Novak Djokovic, who he tipped for greatness before his explosive rise.
