Following the conclusion of the 2025 Australian Open, several WTA stars will travel around the globe with a select few heading to Cluj-Napoca, Romania for the Transylvania Open.
A WTA 250 event, the Transylvania Open is scheduled to run from February 3-9, 2025. The hardcourt tournament had it's inaugural edition in 2021, which was won by the now-retired Estonia Anett Kontaveit. Former World No.1 Karolina Pliskova captured the trophy last year, but the Czech star is not scheduled to compete at this year's edition.
Russian tennis star Anastasia Potapova is the top seed at the event. The World No.35 will be joined by compatriot Anna Blinkova, who won the Transylvania Open title in 2022.
Joining the dynamic duo are Danish player Clara Tauson and Czech star Katerina Siniakova. There will be several Americans present at the event, including rising star Peyton Stearns, the big-hitting Alycia Parks and the always dangerous Caroline Dolehide.
The local fans will get to support some of their home stars, as Romanians Sorana Cirstea and Irina-Camelia Begu will be present to soak up all their support. Egyptian Mayar Sherif has also been confirmed for the event. Below is the list of entrants.
