The WTA will remain in Asia for the Hong Kong Open, scheduled to run from October 28 - November 3, 2024 as the city of Hong Kong, China plays host to several of the Tour's superstars.
A WTA 250 event, the Hong Kong Open had it's first edition in 2014, with German Sabine Lisicki claiming the title. The tournament was put on hiatus during the pandemic, but returned last year. Canadian tennis star Leylah Fernandez defeated Katerina Siniakova in the final, and the former US Open runner-up will return to defend her title.
American Danielle Collins will be competing in one of her final professional tournaments, as the former Australian Open finalist announced earlier this year she would be retiring by the end of the season. Compatriots Taylor Townsend and Bernarda Pera are also scheduled to compete at the event.
Great Britain's Emma Raducanu was forced to retire due to injury at the Korea Open, but the 2021 US Open champion appears ready to return to the tour as she has been announced for the event.
