The 2025 WTA 250 Hong Kong Open will be one of the events of the last week of the women's tennis Tour—at least for the majority of the players—with the WTA Finals being the final week of competition and none of the Riyadh stars competing that week.
The tournament will be played from October 27 to November 2 at Victoria Park, Hong Kong, with Belinda Bencic, Leylah Fernandez and Victoria Mboko among its main stars. It will be the last week for the tournament's stars, who will seek to close out the 2025 season in Hong Kong in the best possible way.
Fernandez (No. 26)—champion of the tournament in 2023—bringing the Asian swing and the 2025 season to a close in a final event. They are also joined by the likes of Alexandra Eala, Eva Lys, Maya Joint, Maria Sakkari, and Anna Kalinskaya.
It will be the 12th edition of the tournament in its women's category, and it will not feature the defending champion Diana Shnaider, who will end her season one week earlier in Tokyo. The Brit Katie Boulter will be present—a finalist in 2024 and one of the names to watch in the tournament.

Predictions

Samuel Gill, Head Editor for TennisUpToDate.com sees a title defence in the offing.
Leylah Fernandez for me is the standout name in Hong Kong. She won a title recently, only lost to Rybakina in Tokyo and in reality is the best placed. She also won this event previously and suits the conditions.
I would also throw a few more names in there in Mboko who will gain confidence from a good week after a torrid few months post Montreal and also Eva Lys and Maria Sakkari - both have endured horrific abuse online. But Lys in particular apart from a poor display last week has been good for a while.
Also throw in top seed Belinda Bencic who may or may not play depending on her progress in Tokyo so she will be up there if involved.
