Eugenie Bouchard continues winning in Chennai

Eugenie Bouchard is continuing to win matches and while today was a bit tricky she was able to escape in two sets 6-2 7-6(2).

The Canadian is finally back to playing regular tennis and she played another solid match to win and move on in two sets. Playing against native wild card Thandi, Bouchard was able to keep herself composed even when being down a break in the second set. The first set was rather comfortable for Genie who took 6-2 breaking her opponent twice.

She faced three break points but saved all of them comfortably to win it 6-2. The 2nd set featured much better play by the Indian as she was able to use a dip in Bouchard's game to her advantage. She took a break early and looked in a strong position to send the match into a decider but the Candian held on.

She saved two sets points down 5-3 to make it 5-5. A golden chance was missed at 5-5 when Thandi was able to save two break points with the match going into a tiebreak where the Candian once again proved a bit better taking it 7-2.
