Garbine Muguruza kicks off Rabat Open with victory

Garbine Muguruza did not play well in Madrid and Rome and to get in form for the French Open, she opted to travel to Morocco for some tennis.

The capital city of Rabat is hosting a tennis event with Garbine Muguruza taking part. The Spaniard took on Danilina in the opening round and after a shaky start, she was able to cruise to a rather easy win. Muguruza nearly lost her serve in their first service game but she battled back from 0-40 to win the game. From there everything seemed a bit easier as Muguruza looked sharper and sharper as the match went on.

Danilina put up a solid fight but eventually towards the end of the set Muguruza was able to wrestle control from her opponent and take a 5-3 lead. She finished off the first set with 6-3 behind a strong 14/19 on her first serve. Muguruza hit it at a higher than 70 % clip which proved crucial.

The 2nd set was an even more impressive showcase of Muguruza and all her tennis talent as Danilina simply did not have an answer. Muguruza served well and she played superbly on return to finish it off with 6-3 6-2. A good start for Muguruza who is in desperate need for some wins.
