It was a good introductory match for
Garbine Muguruza who quickly raced past Wang in straight sets to reach round 3 of the Miami Open.
Muguruza started off her Miami Open campaign in style racing past Want in the 2nd round of the Miami Open. There was little doubt about the winner of this match before it event started and Muguruza demonstrated early why. She completely dominated the play from the start thanks to her strong serving. Muguruza was strong from the baseline as well jumping out to an early 3-1 lead which became a 6-4 opening set victory.
Wang had bright moments in the first sets with some strong holds on her own serve. If she served a bit better (only 37% of first serve's hit) she might have been able to do more. She did serve better in the 2nd but by that time Muguruza figured it out and it was an even more impressive showing from the Spaniard. She won the 2nd set with 6-1 and moved on to the 3rd round of the Miami Open.
All in all, it was an impressive showing from Muguruza who moves on after 66 minutes of play demonstrating her impressive form which is still going strong.
