Gauff defeats Azarenka at Citi Open Women's Invitational

Coco Gauff is one of the four players that will participate in the Citi Open Women's Invitational exhibition event. One of the others is Victoria Azarenka and they faced off last night in the first match of the event. Gauff was playing in her first match after battling COVID-19 that saw her miss the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

And it seemed like the American was not affected by the virus as she dominated the match from start to finish. Gauff served great and was all over the court covering it phenomenally. Azarenka struggled to find holes in the defence of Gauff and the American ran away with both the first and especially the 2nd set.

Azarenka did not look that great in this match but it was expected as she too played her first match in about a month. She will look to improve before they head off the Montreal for the National Bank Open next week.
