Coco Gauff played all three of her Australian Open matches on the Rod Laver Arena and she blamed it on Rafael Nadal as he crashed out of the event.
In an interesting turn of events, Coco Gauff saw herself play all three of her matches in the Rod Laver Arena. It's something she's surprised by as well but she enjoys it. Playing in big arenas in front of a lot of people is what she likes to do so she doesn't mind being in the biggest court in Melbourne Park:
"I definitely do thrive off the energy. Honestly, truly shocked I've been on Laver like all my matches. One of the players asked what time I was playing. I was third. They were like, What court? I was like, Laver. He was like, Of course, they wouldn't put you anywhere else."
Asked why that was, Gauff joked it was because of Nadal crashing out:
"I'm like, I don't know, maybe because Rafael Nadal is out they need somebody else (laughter). I don't know. I feel weird saying that."
She'll hope to play in the Rod Laver Arena on the day of the final as well.
