Coco Gauff
joined in the well wishes and tributes following the passing of NFL legend Jim
Brown.
American
young star Coco Gauff paid tribute to Jim Brown, an NFL star and social
activist who is considered one of the greatest athletes in the history of
American football and a member of the Hall of Fame. On May 18, the former
athlete who led the Cleveland Browns to the NFL championship in 1964 passed
away at the age of 87.
The
three-time MVP left a legacy in sports and beyond the field for his civil
rights activism. As a result, personalities from different fields and sports
mourned the loss of Brown, including Coco Gauff.
"Rest
in power Mr. Jim Brown. Thank you for your incredible legacy on and off the
field," she wrote.
American
player Gauff suffered a defeat in the third round of the Rome Open this week
against Marie Bouzkova. However, she had a strong performance in the doubles
event, reaching the final alongside her partner
Jessica Pegula. Unfortunately,
they were defeated by the duo of Storm Sanders and Elise Mertens.
