Gauff potentially looks to follow in Serena Williams' footsteps by working with Rick Macci

American tennis phenom Coco Gauff could take a page out of WTA legend Serena Williams' playbook, in that the younger American has the opportunity to work with renown coach Rick Macci, who coached Williams as a teenager.

Although Macci had openly stated how he would like to work with Emma Raducanu, the British star's season has been put on hold due to surgical procedures on her hands and ankles.

Raducanu is expected to miss several months of action, and this has bolstered the chances of Gauff working with the legendary coach. There have been talks between both parties, with John McEnroe confirming as much on the 'Holding Court with Patrick McEnroe Podcast'.

Nobody better [than Rick Macci] at breaking down the technical aspects of the game," said John McEnroe. "According to him, he's been in touch with Coco's father about possibly spending some time to obviously try to fix that forehand. Because we all know the forehand swing and the technique on the forehead is very shaky.

"And Rick said to me, if he could spend a solid amount of time with her, he thinks she can win multiple multiple majors because right now it's not solid enough off the forehead that he believes she can do it at the moment.”
