It will be World No.1 v World No.2 in the final of the
Madrid Open and for the second tournament in a row after
Iga Swiatek defeated Aryna Sabalenka in Stuttgart.
But will it be repeat or revenge at the Madrid Open. It was a late win for Swiatek albeit comprehensive against Veronika Kudermetova.
It was 6-1, 6-1 for Swiatek who took one hour and 19 minutes to prevail improving her head to head to 4-0 against the Russian.
She has also never lost more than six games in a match against Kudermetova and her dominance continues.
It will only be the third time in the last 40 years that the World's top two have faced each other twice on clay in a single season and the first since 2014 that the top two will collide in a WTA 1000 final.
