Despite falling to
Simona Halep at the 2022 BNP Paribas Open
Indian Wells,
Coco Gauff maintained a positive attitude as she continues to blossom on the WTA Tour.
The American was unable to solve the Halep puzzle, as the Romanian prevailed 6-3 6-4 in their third round encounter. After the match, the World No.17 was full of praise for her opponent.
"I thought she played well," Gauff said. "I thought I had a lot of chances, a couple break points here and there."
Furthermore, the 18-year old reflected on her performance during the match, stating she failed to execute her game plan which led to the former World No.1 increasing her intensity and running away with the victory.
"Overall I think it was a good match," said Gauff. "She has a great level and I knew that coming into it. I think I was making the right decisions, just not executing them."
