There were only 4 last players in both ATP and WTA draws heading to the Day 4 of the Virtual Madrid Open. All of the players included on the final day didn't lose a single match on their way to the semifinal.
In the first men's semifinal match, David Goffin faced Stefanos Tstisipas. The Belgian got an early break when he led already 3-1 and 40-0. But Stefanos broke back and so the players reached the tie-break. There, it was the Greek who was the first to have a match point. However, Goffin managed to come back and win the tie-break 8-6 to advance to the final.
After Fiona Ferro outplayed Sorana Cirstea, there was only one more spot left in the final of women's draw. Both Caroline Wozniacki and Kiki Bertens were showing exceptional gaming skills in the match. And it seemed that we will see another tie-break. However, Kiki managed to break Caroline's service game in the 12th game to win the set 7-5 and set up a final against Ferro.
