Quarterfinal line-ups are almost completed for the Virtual Madrid Open as Goffin, Paire, Vekic and Cirstea secure their spots.
Sorana Cirstea opened her
Virtual Madrid Open journey in a great style already yesterday. The Romanian triumphed in both of her matches, and today she added 3rd victory to secure the top spot in Group 1.
2019 Madrid Open champion, Kiki Bertens is the winner of Group 4 without any doubts. However, there was a huge find for the second spot between
Donna Vekic, Angelique Kerber and
Eugenie Bouchard. In the end, it was Vekic who got 2 victories and secure the second spot.
In men's draw, David Goffin took first place in Group 4. He is followed by Alexander Zverev who he defeated 3-0. After
Andy Murray dominated Group 1, there was still a big fight for the second place. And it was
Benoit Paire, who replaced Gael Monfils that defeated both Nadal and Shapovalov to finish 2nd.
